Mazda Exceed Sales Record in IIMS 2012

Mazda Biante Helped Mazda Exceed Sales Record in IIMS 2012

Jakarta, 1 October 2012 – PT. Mazda Motor Indonesia (MMI) reported today that it has successfully surpassed its sales target for the 20th Indonesia International Motor Show . MMI beat its sales target of 1,300 units by booking 2,156 units during the 11-day exhibition.

All-New Mazda Biante, which was launched during the opening of IIMS, played a significant role in helping Mazda achieve its target with as many as 629 units being sold. New Mazda2, which has been MMI’s sales backbone ever since its launch in 2009, was again the most demanded Mazda car at 1,017 sold units. Meanwhile, All-New Mazda CX-5 rounded up the top three most selling Mazda cars with 313 sold units.

This year’s result is also a 71% improvement from the 1,259 units booked during the 2011 IIMS, a sign that the series of cars launched by Mazda this year have been warmly welcomed by the Indonesian market.

Speaking on the sales achievement, PT. Mazda Motor Indonesia President Director, Keizo Okue, said “We are very pleased that we were able to finish the 2012 IIMS on such a high note. IIMS is a fantastic medium to channel and communicate the Zoom-Zoom brand to the public. We are also very satisfied with our sales result as it is a testament of the growing acceptance of the Indonesian market towards our brand.”

The All-New Mazda Biante was the latest model introduced by Mazda this year, following earlier releases of Mazda RX-8 Spirit R, New Mazda2, All-New Mazda CX-5 and All-New Mazda BT-50 Pro. Mazda Biante, a medium high roof eight-seaters MPV, quickly proved to be among the IIMS crowd favorite as shown by high requests to test drive the car. Visitors enthusiastically flocked to Mazda’s booth to sign up for test drive day after day; MMI recorded a total of 567 test drives for Mazda Biante throughout the exhibition period. The All-New Mazda Biante was also the third winner of the “ Favorite Car” category during the IIMS Award ceremony.

To further enhance visitors’ experience, MMI provided plenty of entertainments and exciting sales programs. The list of performers which entertained visitors of Mazda’s booth include Maliq & D’essential, Endah N Rhesa, Alexa, HiVi, RAN, Rio Febrian, Tangga and Marcell. Meanwhile, interesting instant prizes such as Free Vespa LX 125, Free Samsung Galaxy Note and free Polygon Cozmic CX 1.0 were proven effective to drum up more interest in Mazda cars during IIMS 2012. Visitors of Mazda’s booth were also intrigued by the unique design of Mazda Takeri as many visitors were seen taking photos of Mazda’s latest concept car.

“2012 has thus far been a great year for us. Starting from the series of new models that we introduced to our fantastic result during the 2012 IIMS. This result will surely motivate us to continue to improve the level of our customer satisfaction,” added Okue.
